The European Alliance for Personalised Medicine (EAPM) participated in the BRECISE Plenary Meeting held in London on 12–13 March 2026, convening partners at a key moment for both the project and the wider oncology landscape.
The timing and location were not incidental. The meeting took place alongside the annual congress of the European Association of Urology (EAU), positioning BRECISE within a broader ecosystem of clinical, scientific and policy dialogue. This alignment reflects an increasingly recognised reality: progress in precision oncology depends not only on innovation, but on how effectively it is embedded into clinical practice and health systems.
Across the two days, partners reviewed progress across work packages and use cases, with a strong focus on the transition from research outputs to implementation pathways. Discussions moved beyond technical updates, addressing the systemic conditions required to ensure that biomarker-driven approaches in prostate and bladder cancer can be adopted at scale.
As leader of Work Package 7, EAPM contributed to shaping the project’s communication, dissemination and stakeholder engagement strategy, ensuring that BRECISE outputs are not only generated, but understood, shared and translated into policy and practice. This includes ongoing efforts to engage policymakers, clinicians and patient communities, and to position project results within the evolving European policy framework.

In parallel, a series of stakeholder interviews were recorded, capturing partner perspectives on progress, challenges and next steps. These will form part of a broader effort to connect the scientific work of BRECISE with the realities of healthcare delivery.
The London meeting reinforced a central point: Europe’s strength in innovation is clear, but impact will depend on execution. BRECISE is working to close that gap — linking science, systems and stakeholders to ensure that advances in biomarker research translate into real benefits for patients.
